Claudia Nash Campbell, 66, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Howard William Campbell for thirty-seven years.
Born March 7, 1944 in Appomattox County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas Nash and Elsie Phelps Nash and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy East and Joan Cheatham. She retired from the Central Virginia Training Center after thirty-one years of service and was a member of Campbell Avenue Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Charles "Dave" Nash and wife, Fredda of Lynchburg; two uncles, Twyman Phelps and wife, Mary of Appomattox and Rice Phelps and wife, Faye of Madison Heights; one aunt, Belle Lindsey of Lynchburg; one brother-in-law, Herman P. Cheatham,. Jr.; special friend, Delores Elliott; seven nieces and nephews; fifteen great-nieces and nephews and a special pet, "Trixie"
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with Dr. Reed Ness officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., today, August 27, 2010, at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
