Charles William Blankenship, 61, of Madison Heights passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at the Guggenheimer Nursing Home. Born April 26, 1956, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late John William Blankenship and the late Frances Campbell Blankenship.
Charles was a retired mechanic for Old Dominion Box and also worked for England Stoves. He enjoyed fishing, grilling and watching wrestling, westerns and vintage cartoons.
Charles is survived by three siblings, John M. Blankenship of Madison Heights, Karen Beard of Lynchburg and Donna Lynn Blankenship with the family cat, “Little Girl” of Madison Heights; and one nephew, Chris Beard of Lynchburg.
In honor of Charles’ request, there will be no services. We know that you have already “gone fishing” and we will see you on the other side.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Dobyns and staff for their care and support all these many years, the Centra Foundation, Dr. Jack MacNeill and everyone at the Pearson Cancer Center, 4 East Oncology and Lynchburg General Hospital, Guggenheimer, Dr. Thompson and Dr. Lisa Larkin - Centra Hospice.
