Catherine Hall Maddox, 83, of Lynchburg, died, Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Foster Lee Maddox. Born March 13, 1929, in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late William Howard Hall, Sr. and the late Daisy Hall Mitchell.
Catherine was a homemaker and a member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Catherine was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Lambert; one brother, William Howard Hall, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Maddox; brother-in-law, Dr. Joseph Maddox; nephew, Ricky Lambert; and grandson, James Craig Maddox.
Catherine is survived by her children, Darlene Maddox of Campbell County, Richard Maddox and his wife Virginia of Blue Ridge, Ronnie Maddox of Lynchburg, Wayne Maddox and his wife Joy of Vine Grove, KY and David Maddox and his wife Gail of Lynchburg; one sister, Rose Webb of Entiat, WA; sister-in-law, Flonnie Collie of Lynchburg; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to all of her friends and neighbors for their help and support over all the years.
A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Desiree Justis officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends, 3-5 p.m., Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
