Catherine's life was a story of love and unwavering devotion to her family. So much so, that these qualities became the cornerstone of her existence, defining every piece of her life. She showcased this through her devotion to taking care of, and looking after her family. Cathy was born on September 2, 1962 in Martinsville, VA. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church on Timberlake Road. She was an avid gardener, a great cook, liked to fish, go to the lake as well as to the beach. She also had a soft spot for animals, particularly shelter dogs. Her biggest passion however, was her only granddaughter, Maggie. Cathy loved to play with her and teach her everything from cooking to showing her how to best capture falling snowflakes on her tongue and everything in between.
Those left to cherish Catherine’s memory include her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Karl David Hedrick; her father Larry Michael Vaden and his wife Norma; her children Karl M. Hedrick and his wife Brooke, Bryan E. Hedrick; her step-son William B. Milton; her step-siblings David Branch, Carloyn Bracy; and her granddaughter Maggie Hedrick.
Catherine was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Jane Noble Vaden.
