Obituary of Catherine Colleen Cobb
Catherine Colleen Cobb, 73, of Lynchburg passed away surrounded by her loved ones Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Cooley Campbell Jr, and Ruth Louise Osbourne. Cat's life was filled with a sense of purpose and dedication to serving others. She was born on February 10th, 1950 and spent her entire life as a devoted member of the Salvation Army. Throughout the years, she selflessly served as the Home League secretary, always striving to improve the lives of those around her. Aside from her work with the Salvation Army, Cat spent over 32 years working at the Central Virginia Training Center. During her tenure, she held various positions, including that of a Safety Inspector and a Special Activity Aid. Her hard work and dedication to her duties were an inspiration to her colleagues, and her unwavering commitment to her work made her a valuable member of the community. However, it was Cat's loving and kind personality that made her a cherished member of her family and community. She went out of her way to serve both her family and those around her, often going above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt loved and appreciated. Her family was the backbone of her life, and she made sure they all knew how much she loved and cared for them. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Cat prided herself on her family. She was the glue that held them all together, and her unwavering love for each member of her family was palpable. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren looked up to her as a role model, and her love and kindness were an inspiration to all who knew her. Cat was a remarkable woman who lived her life with purpose and dedication. Her love for her family and community knew no bounds, and her selfless service to the Salvation Army and her community will be remembered for years to come. In addition to her parents Cat was preceded in death by her twin sister Cyndi Lindsey. Those left to cherish Cat’s memory include her loving husband of over 55 years David Cobb; her children Constance Cobb Johnson and her husband James, Carol Denise Cobb; her grandchildren Nathan Bowling, Matthew Bowling, Jacob Bowling, Catherine Brown, David Johnson, Sarah Johnson; her sisters Donna K. Guill and her husband Jim of Rustburg, Wanda St. John, Leslie Campbell; her special friend Libby Tomlin; and her six great-grandchildren.
