Born in Campbell County on September 27, 1925 she was a daughter of the late James Wilson and Lillian Wilson. She was retired dark room tech. with General Electric, and a member of Timberlake Baptist Church. Carrie won numerous awards in the Golden Olympics and was an avid participant in many sports.
She is preceded in death by three children, Gayle Hight, Carolyn Ford and Wayne Hendricks.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Pavia and her husband Dean of Forest; four sisters, Vernie Beahm and her husband John of Lynchburg, Helen Dudley and her husband Tennis of Evington, Lydia Parker of Forest and Mary Bryan of Madison Heights; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, December 30, 2019 at Virginia Memorial Park with Pastor Brian Ferrell officiating. Carrie will be available for viewing from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
