He was born on December 20, 1956 in Lynchburg, son of the late Joseph Andrew Carey and the late Clara Wright Carey.
Calvin was a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed flowers and animals of all kinds, playing practical jokes and watching the Andy Griffith show. In his younger days he also enjoyed bowling and fishing down on their lake.
Survivors left to cherish his memory as his beloved wife Carol; two children, April Brittany Carey Bell and her husband Rory and Michael Andrew Carey and his wife Senja; a brother, Larry Andrew Carey and his wife Betty as well as three grandchildren, Korbin Grey Bell, Vivi Ahna Bell and Kieran Reed Bell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with interment at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 3-5 at the funeral home.
