Born March 19, 1947 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late William Lawrence Peak and Rose Mathews Peak. She was a homemaker and attended Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Martin Banton and brother, William Bradford Peak.
In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by one brother, Dennis Lawrence Peak and wife, Deloris of Madison Heights; sister-in-law, Gloria Jean Peak; two sisters, Patricia P. Vernon and husband, Nyle of Fla., Roxanne P. Cooper and husband, Van of Madison Heights; son-in-law, Dwayne Banton and two grandsons, Adam Banton and wife, Stephanie of Rustburg, and Joshua Scott Banton of Concord.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Gary L. Vernon.
Interment will follow the next day, Thursday, December 22, 2011 in Fort Hill Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.
