Beulah Austin Waller, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away, Monday, August 26, 2013, at her residence. She was the wife of Claude Swanson Waller. Born March 23, 1933, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Zane Alexander Austin and the late Allie Grishaw Austin.
Mrs. Waller was a retired social worker for the city of Lynchburg, and she was a member of Old Forest Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Waller was a loving daughter, wife, sister and mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waller was preceded in death by nine siblings, Hubert Austin, Clyde Austin, Ernest Austin, Walter Austin, Alease West, Herman Austin, Harry Austin, Fred Austin and Annie Jennings.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Waller is survived by her daughter, Rhonda W. Smith (David) of Lynchburg; one sister, Ruth Aultice of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Ben Smith, Carolina Smith and Nikki Smith; one sister-in-law, Frances Martin of Gretna; one brother-in-law, Garland Waller of Keysville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted, 11 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Ed Vogt officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest, VA.
The family will receive friends, 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
