She was born on April 18, 1930 in Campbell County, daughter of the late Charlie and Patsy Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Katherine Bailey and a brother, Elwood Brown.
She had been a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church and was currently attending Salvation Army. Bernice retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. She was a very good business woman which was proven by her successfully managing numerous rental properties. She had a great love of all animals. In her spare time she enjoyed going to yard sales. Bernice was a kind, gentle, compassionate, and likeable woman who could be tough when she needed to.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Steven A. Trent (Oslo Johnson); two grandchildren, Cameron A. Miller-Trent and Keaton A. Miller-Trent. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews as well as close family friends, Lisa Anderson and Tiara Giles.
Our thanks to the medical and general staff of The Summit Health & Rebab Center for their compassion, love and care that they showed to Bernice.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Spring Hill Cemetery.
