Born in Campbell Co., he was the son of the late Charles Reese Carwile and the late Hilda Cardwell Carwile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Aubrey William Carwile, Jr. and Mark Dennis Carwile; six brothers, Lewis Carwile, Robert Carwile, Raymond Carwile, Wesley Carwile, James Carwile and Bennett Carwile and two sisters, Nell Carwile and Margaret C. Caldwell.
Aubrey was a quiet and gentle man who loved farming and helping his son Bryan work on heavy equipment. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a retired employee of Babcock and Wilcox Corp. after 34 ½ years of service and a former employee of Glamorgan Pipe and Foundry Co. He was a Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army Headquarters Motor Pool, stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, October 1953 to 1955. Following his discharge from the service he returned with his family to Rustburg, where he resided the remainder of his life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Bryan Carwile and his wife, Connie, of Rustburg; six grandchildren, Scott Carwile (Leah), Matthew Carwile (Josie), Tara C. Neville (Jessie), Amy C. Cyrus (Kenny), Robert Carwile and Crystal Warnstorff; nine great grandchildren, Austin, Cassie, Carley, Emma, Raelyn, Bailah, Abigail, Jacob and Carly; two brothers, Revely B. Carwile and his wife, Billie and C. Henry Carwile, both of Lynchburg and a daughter-in-law, Jonell C. Worsham.
He also enjoyed his very special young friend, Garrett Sitton.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Calvary United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9p.m., today, Wednesday, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
