Born in Campbell County, May 23, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Jeff Davis Goodman and Pattie Glover Goodman. Having lived in Lynchburg all of her life, she worked as a “Grey Lady” in the VA hospital in Salem in the 60’s. She worked for Craddock Terry Shoe Co. and later worked with G.E. until she retired. She was a lifelong member of Fairview Christian Church, where she was a member of the choir for years. She was a longtime and dedicated member of the Lynchburg Home Rebekah Lodge No. 41 and served as President of the Rebekah Assembly of Virginia in the 1990’s and she had been an avid bowler all of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malvin J. Weber; four brothers, Jesse Goodman, Jeff Goodman, John Goodman and Robert Goodman and one sister, Dorothy G. Hamlett Bryant.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Davis (Dave) Weber and his wife Betty of Sparta, TN; one daughter, Dorothy (Dottie) Weber Hall and her husband Dennis of Tallahassee, FL; her friend and companion of 50 years, George Huffman of Lynchburg; one step-grandson, Scott Hall; 3 step-great grandchildren; two special and dear friends, Pauline Shearer and Michael Shearer and a number of nieces and nephews and her little beagle Lady.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at Fairview Christian Church with the Rev. Curtis Wheeler and the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Winfall.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
