Andrea Maebelle Guthrie

Born on October 25, 1969 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Leabria “Anne” deBernard Gurthrie.

Andrea graduated in 1988 from Rustburg High School. She attended United Pentecostal Church on Old Forest Road before her illness. Andrea loved hearing gospel music, her kitty cat, Bunny, and panda bears. She was named after her grandmother, Maebelle deBernard.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Maebelle deBernard and her niece Heather Guthrie.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brothers, David Guthrie and wife Patricia of Concord, Timothy Guthrie and wife Barbara of Gladys, and Keith Guthrie of Chattanooga, TN; her sister, Wanda Gayle Guthrie and husband Bobbie Allen of Arkansas; five nieces and nephews; three great nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nathan Williams for his care in treating Andrea for over twenty years, the Virginia Ambulance Services, and the nurses and staff at Lynchburg General Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 1 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Pastor Barry Cantor officiating. Interment will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery.
