Marie Usher Huggins

Marie enjoyed her career with Farmers Home Administration in which she served in various positions during her 28 years of service.

She was a loyal member of East Lumberton Baptist Church where she volunteered with GA’s and Vacation Bible School. She was a dedicated member of the Workers Bible Class and inspiration to all who met her.

Marie was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (Gigi).

She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Amanda Britt; brother, Howard Usher; and sister, Norma Usher Parker.

Leaving to cherish her memories are husband, Rufus James Huggins; daughters, Katrina Huggins Davis and husband Timothy, and Rowena Huggins Bass and husband Jimmy; granddaughter, Erika Phillips Dail and husband Barclay; great-grandson, William Bryson Dail; sisters-in-law, Clara Hawley, Gloria Pittman, Betty Pittman, Linda Cox and husband Roy, and Mary Ann Mayers; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 in Biggs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Michael Bowen and L.F. Hatchell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Private burial will take place in Gardens of Faith.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the East Lumberton Baptist Church, 2101 Whiteville Avenue, Lumberton, NC 28358 or the Lupus Foundation of America, P.O. Box 418629, Boston, MA 02241 in memory of Marie Usher Huggins.
