Ann Averill Atwood died on January 7, 2024 at St. Tammany’s Parish Hospital in Covington, LA with her family by her side. Ann was born on December 2, 1938 in Port Allen, LA to Charles and Berthilde Averill (deceased).
Ann was a graduate of Louisiana State University where she obtained a degree in Business Administration.
Ann worked alongside her husband for almost 30 years at their pharmacy John’s Discount Drugs in Lumberton, MS. Her biggest pleasure was spending time with her children and six grandchildren. She was strong in her Catholic faith and very active in her church in Lumberton for many years. Ann loved LSU football and eating good seafood, especially crawfish.
Ann is survived by her husband, John (Bill) Atwood, her children John Atwood (Stephanie), Charlie Atwood (Rachel) and Kelly Epting (Brooks); and her grandchildren Landry and John Hall Atwood, Bradon, Colby, Marley and Addison Epting. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Timothy Atwood and brother Chuck Averill.

Pallbearers are Bradon Epting, Colby Epting, John Hall Atwood, Rodney Hurt, Brad Hurt, Chris Schaefer, and Reece Holford.
Honorary pallbearers are Scott Suhor, Kevin Ladner, Redd Marsh, Fred LeBlanc, David LeBlanc, Jerry Achee, Sonny Pate, Steve Pate and Butch Gipson
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Lumberton, MS. Burial will take place at OLPH Cemetery in Lumberton, MS.
