Mr. Jones was born September 4, 1929 in Polk County, Texas, the son of the late Almeda and Homer Jones. He passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Jones was a good husband and daddy and loved his grandkids. He believed in doing right and was a good, kind but firm man. He loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Jones was retired from the Trailer Division of Lufkin Industries as a carpenter foreman. He built the family home, which took him 7 years because he was particular and wanted it done right. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Oneta Jones of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Jeanette Jones of Lufkin; grandchildren, Chris Jones of Austin and Keith Jones of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his brother, Buck; and sisters, Dolly and Joyce.
