Services for Sarah Francis (Goins) Mott, 74, of Diboll, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Fairview Baptist Church, with Bro. Gene Hazell officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Mott was born January 18, 1941 in Diboll, Texas, the daughter of the late Nettie Mae (Anderson) and Barney Benjamin Goins. She passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 27, 2015.
Sarah was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and being surrounded with grandchildren. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jose Mott of Diboll; daughters, Jamie Howell and husband Wayne of Apple Springs and Tamisha Luce and husband Woodie of Diboll; son, Danny Mott and wife Marivel of Teneha; grandchildren, Jessica Cockrell, Chad McCarty and wife Tiffany, Merissa McCarty and boyfriend Brian Ritchie, and Felicity and Amber Luce; great-grandchildren, Christopher Street, Brayden McCarty, MaKenzie and Lillyan Cockrell, Alexa and Jullian Thelen, Tanner Ohrwall, Julie and Jonathan Tomaiko; sisters and brothers, Billie Bryce of Diboll, Waynette Patterson and husband Pat of Lufkin, Jerry Goins and wife Glenda of Diboll, and Jimmy Goins and wife Barbara of Pollok; sister-in-law, Nell Goins of Diboll; special cousin, Jan Denton; special friend, Faye Elliot; and numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Dock Mott; brothers, Herman and Benny Goins; sister, Oleta Hall; sister-in-law, Linda Goins; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hall and Orville Bryce.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hayes, Noah Goins, Jerry (Tootie) Bryce, Kenny Goins, Barney Hall and Ben Goins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad McCarty, Robert Capps, Derek Constante, Randy Patterson, Eddie Goins, James Goins and Danny Mott.
Mrs. Mott’s family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice in the Pines for their loving care of her.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Mott’s memory may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, 3742 FM 2108, Lufkin, TX 75901.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
