Sarah Ruth Lee

Sarah Ruth "Ma Ruth" Lee, 75, of Apple Springs, was born February 6, 1937 in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Nancy Beall (Williamson) and M. W. "Shorty" Havard. She passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Lee lived most of her life in Apple Springs and was a caregiver for many years. She loved gardening, but most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Loraine Lee of Apple Springs; daughter, Teresa Lee of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Debbie Lee of Trinity; daughter, Sherry Hickman of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Lori Lee of Normangee; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Stacy Lee of Apple Springs; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Everitt Havard; sister, Joyce West McLaughlin; and a number of other family members.

In addition to her parents; Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie J. Lee; brother, Gerald "Bubba" Havard; and sister, Melba Matchett.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Lee, Dustin Lee, Timothy Bounds, Michael Paul Goff, Danny Tullos and Nathaniel Thompson.

Services for Mrs. Lee will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
