Roger was born December 30, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Lola Hester (Carter) and Norman E. Nerren. He passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 in a local hospital.
Roger was a welder and worked for several different companies, traveling around from one place to another. He had been retired for several years. Roger enjoyed playing “42”, fishing, being at the river, and just riding around in his car in the back roads. He was of the Baptist Faith. Roger served his country in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Loretta Nerren; daughters, Cathy Rainey of Oklahoma and Elizabeth Nerren of Nacogdoches; stepchildren, Victoria Hutto, Jacqueline Davenport and Alicia Howatt; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Dixie Nerren of Henderson, Tennessee; sisters, Betty Forrest and husband Jessie of Lufkin; Barbra Miller and husband Chick of Winona, and Judy Havard of Lufkin; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Charles Springer; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to service time on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
