Services for Robert Kenneth Holt, 90, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. David Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Grimes Cemetery.
Mr. Holt was born February 9, 1928 in Bristow, Oklahoma, to the late Lawton Sidney Holt and Mary Jeanette Welch. He passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 in Lufkin at Parkwood in the Pines.
Mr. Holt was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed doing missionary work and was a volunteer Fireman for the City of Diboll. He also worked at Temple Inland. Mr. Holt was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Diboll, Texas. He served in World War Ii and received a medal during his service.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Holt; daughter, Doreen Holt-Wideman; granddaughter, Jessica Noelle Wideman; son-in-law, David Wideman; brother, Leonard Holt; sister, Mina Kraft; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl Holt; and sister, Shirley McCain.
Pallbearers will be Charles Barron, Joe Gage, David Garcia, Raul Hinojaso VI, Jake Stephens and Tino Villansana.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Hendrick, Gary Hendrick, Dennis Holder, Gary Hurley, J. D. Johnson, David Lively, Clyde Maxey, Bill McGuire, James Snarr and Rick Tilley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
