Robert "Bob" Lee Davis

Services for Robert (Bob) Davis, 73, of Lufkin, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Eric Peyton officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrell Cemetery in Huntington.

Mr. Davis was born October 7, 1945 in Palestine, Texas, the son of the late Thelma Marie (Britt) and Lee Davis. He passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Davis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was retired from Temple-Inland following many years of employment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Mr. Davis was survived by his wife, Joyce (Jan) Davis of Lufkin; daughter, Leslye Davis Coulter and husband Mike of Etoile; son, Robert Lee Davis, Jr. and wife Casey of Lufkin; daughter, Crista Davis of Dallas; nephew/adopted son, Chantz Davis and wife Stephanie of Pollok; grandson, Korye Stewart and wife Rae-Lynn of Diboll; granddaughter, Breeana Stewart of Etoile; granddaughter, Rachel Massingill and husband Billy of Lufkin; grandsons, Carson and Cole Davis of Lufkin and Zane Davis of Pollok; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kadence and Gentry Stewart, Saylor Marie, Nicholas Caldera, and Sophia and Tyler Massingill; brother, Ron Davis and wife Theta; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donald Wayne Davis.

Mr. Davis will be escorted to his final resting place by his pallbearers, Erik McCoy, Jason Cook, Clay Eldridge, Matt Amason, Willie Wooten and Lane Havard. Honorary pallbearers will be James “Ticktoc” McClintock and Ben Vance.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
