Phillip Larry Beam, born February 28, 1948, passed away on March 15,2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication and service. He was the son of Lewis Beam, beloved second child of Madeline Repp and a brother to, Louis Beam Jr., JoAnn Bradshaw and Sheila King. He was father to Larry Beam and grandfather to Chance Beam and a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.
After graduating high school, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where his courage and commitment earned him numerous commendations, including the prestigious Purple Heart Award.
Following his military service, Phillip built a successful career with Chevron Oil Company in Pasadena, Texas. Over the years he advanced to the role of Process Engineer, becoming an expert in computer systems long before the world understood the vital role of IT professionals. He retired in 2004 and relocated to Muldrow, Oklahoma, where he embraced a simpler, fulfilling life. He found great joy cultivating a vegetable garden, fishing and spending time with the people he loved.
Phillip will be remembered for his sweet smile, kind and generous heart and his devotion to family and friends.
A service to honor Phillip’s life will be held at Gipson Funeral home, April 5,2025 at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells at 12:00pm.
Family will gather at Rocky Hill Baptist Church, 4040 Harley Golden Road, Huntington Texas 75949 for a time of fellowship with friends following the service.
