Mildred Thompson Crain, 84, of Dover, AR, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. The daughter of Lee and Emma Thompson, she was born December 28, 1927 in Angelina County, TX. She married the love of her life, Grady Crain, on February 3, 1946 at Bald Hill, TX. She was a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Russellville, AR and the PEO Sisterhood. She was a homemaker and enjoyed singing, sewing, quilting, stained glass, oil painting, Bible study, cooking and story telling. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Boyce Thompson; her sister, Helen Reynolds; and grandson, Jeb King.
Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Grady Crain of Dover, AR; two daughters, Molly Turner and husband Ken of Dover, AR and Pamela King and husband David of Brenham, TX; one son, Johnny Crain of Austin, TX; seven grandchildren, Lee Ann Concienne of Austin, TX, Cory Crain and wife Angela of Austin, TX, Tawnya Bell of Westlake, OH,Luke King and Carly of Mansfield, TX, Davalyn Kratz and husband Bryan of Las Vegas, NV, Nathan Turner and wife Jessica of Chicago, IL, Emily Wesley and husband Zac of Fort Smith; nine great-grandchildren, Grace and Faith Ann Concienne; Joshua, Jared, John and Caroline Bell; Kathryn King; Jory and Jeryn Kratz; two sisters, Nell Cox and Hallie Allen, both of Lufkin, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services for Mrs. Crain will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2021 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Gilbert Chapel Cemetery in Bald Hill, TX.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Gipson Funeral Home.
