Mass of Christian Burial for Maria Del Refugio “Cuquita” Guerrero, 89, of Diboll, will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Louis Arroyave, M.S.,celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday evening in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends and loved ones from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Cuquita was born July 4, 1934 in Progreso, Coahuila Mexico, daughter to the late Damianita Guajardo Jimenez and Daniel Jimenez. She passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Hospice in the Pines.
Mrs. Guerrero was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved taking care of her family and getting together for Loteria Day. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, quilting, gardening, and taking care of her plants. She also loved her church.
Survivors include daughters, Delia Guerrero Lopez and husband, Gilberto of Mission, TX, and Maria De Lourdes Guerrero Perez and husband, Rogelio of Diboll, TX; sons, Pablo Guerrero Jr., and wife, Dora Anna of Colleyville, TX, and Dionicio Guerrero and wife, Irma of Diboll, TX; 10 grandchildren, Monica Perez Rouse and husband, Travis of Seabrook, TX, Jennifer Lopez Holt, and husband, Alexandro, of Mission, TX, Mercedes Guerrero Longoria and husband, Fernando, of Grapevine, TX, Veronica Guerrero Garcia and husband, Hector, of Fort Worth, TX, Alejandra Guerrero of Fort Worth, TX, Claudia Perez Yepez and husband, Obed, of Waco, TX, Vidal Perez III and wife, Catherine, of Clarksville, TN, Gilbert C. Lopez Jr. and wife, Nathalie, of Mission, TX, Daniel Guerrero and wife, Thalia, of Lufkin, TX, and Ezequiel Guerrero and wife, Sandra, of Hudson, TX; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents, Damianita Guajardo Jimenez and Daniel Jimenez Sandoval; her husband, Pablo Guerrero; sisters, Sophia Garza, Maria Feliz Garcia, and Evangelina Lozoya; and brothers, Daniel Jimenez and Jose Jimenez.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Guerrero, Hector Garcia, Obed Yepez, Vidal Perez, Travis Rouse, and Alexandro Holt.
