Services for Mack Harrison Lawson, 92, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jerry Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Lawson was born January 17, 1921 in Wood County, Texas, the son of the late Denora Ellen (Thrillkill) and Mack Henry Lawson. He passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Lawson was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was employed at Continental EMSCO in Houston and retired in 1986. He loved his tractor, horses, and other farm animals. Mr. Lawson served his country in the United States Army. He was the 3000th volunteer in the 5307th Composite Unit under Brigadier General Frank Merill. He was a member of Homer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Connie Beth Lawson, Darla Maxine Waldon and LeAnna Pillow; son, Harold Gregory Lawson; daughter-in-law, Donna Lawson; grandchildren, Erika Lawson, Wesley Lawson, Matthew Waldon, Marybeth vonDohlen and husband Don, Elizabeth Lawson, Kristopher Lawson, Paolo Santos, Iris Santos, Rachel Molandes and husband Jason, Jessica Pillow and Justin Pillow; great-grandchildren, Laurel Melton, Tori Lawson, Cameron Lawson, Jacob Lawson, Haley Lawson, Tristan White, Kaylee White, Ella Molandes, Reena Molandes, Isaiah Waldon, Baley Lawson, Makaley Lawson and Adena Vasquez; and a number of other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lee Duke Lawson; daughter, Mary Dena Lawson; son, William Joel Lawson; and a number of siblings.
The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
