Linda Landrum of Lufkin, Texas gained her wings on October 3, 2021. While Linda was loved by so many, she is survived by Angela and Mark Estenson (daughter and son-in-law), Hannah and Jason Umlauf (granddaughter and grandson-in-law), Will and Jennifer Petit (son and daughter-in-law) Madison Petit (granddaughter), Tyler Fults (grandson) and Louis Vitton Landrum (her dog).
Linda was born and raised in Bath, Maine. She graduated from Morris High School and entered the workforce. Her journey took her to many places along the northeast coast with a prolonged stay in Key West, Florida. Her journey then took her to the great state of Texas where she ended her journey in Lufkin, Texas. During her time in Lufkin, Linda completed her degree in Paralegal services. During her time as a paralegal Linda found herself serving to assist and protect the children of the community by participating on the Angelina County Child Welfare Board.
Linda lost the love of her life in 2014. Through that tragedy Linda blossomed into a vibrant beacon of hope to many. During a time when many have shut down, Linda dug down deep and despite her pain thrived into the woman many of you have known and come to love. In 2015 Linda began her first battle with lung cancer and beat it back with all the grace and beauty she was known for. In 2019 Linda entered into her second battle with lung cancer and was well on her way to beating it a second time. In late 2021 she was diagnosed with COVID and managed to beat it. She was a modern medical miracle.
One of Linda's favorite things to do was to serve others. She was able to use her experiences to encourage and help others through her service in Grief Share. She went on to informally adopt many children sending them cards and little items through the mail just to make them smile.
A few years ago Linda adopted her companion Louis who came to love and care for her just the same way she did him. They shared a unique close bond that far surpassed the normal relationship of pet and owner.
Linda was a devoted wife and friend and has been reunited with her soulmate Ray Landrum to continue their happily ever after story. She loved you all and will watch over us all. So if you see a penny in the parking lot just know she was thinking of you. And if you see a couple of cardinals, that would be her and Ray stopping by to say hello.
