Lillie Mae Dennis Burgess

Services for Lillie Mae Dennis Burgess, 83, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Leslie Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Burgess was born November 18, 1933 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Callie (Calhoun) and Harvey Dennis. She passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 in a Livingston nursing facility.

Mrs. Burgess was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her flowers, sewing, and quilting. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Hubbard of Corrigan and Shirley Stewart of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Harvey D. and Rita Burgess of Lufkin; grandsons, Chris Hubbard and wife Melissa, Andy Hubbard and wife Evie and Keith Hubbard and wife, Chelsea; granddaughters, Barbara Agee, Patricia Mezger and husband Joseph, Sarah Burgess, and Ashley Burgess; 12 great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Elvin Stewart.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Burgess; son-in-law, Lynn Hubbard; brother, R. B. Dennis; sister, LaVonn Dennis; great-granddaughter, Amanda Hubbard; and baby brother Dennis.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hubbard, Andy Hubbard, Keith Hubbard, Steven Tolley, Joseph Mezger and Elvin Stewart, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
