Laura Gayle Knight Blakeley

Laura was a very loving person , loved her son, and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed music, and was known to travel just to attend concerts. She was a "band nerd" down to her soul. She enjoyed watching marching bands at football games. Laura gave her heart and soul to her patients and co-workers as a radiolgy technician.

Survivors include her husband, Shawn Blakcley; son, Jacob Shoffitt of Katy; father, James Knight of Lufkin; mother, Linda Knight of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Melodie and Grant Payne of College Station and Michelle and Mike Stephens of Lufkin; niece, Megan Stephens; nephews, Waymon Stephens, Ryan Stephens, Jon Payne, and Jess Payne; aunt, Margie Johnson; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Johnson; and a number of other family members.

Laura was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Knight; and grandmother, Louise Johnson Dunaway.

Pallbearers will be Mike Stephens, Ryan Stephens, Billy Knight, Michael Knight, Shaun Knight and Steve Buchannan.

Honorary pallbearer will be Shawn Blakeley.

Services for Laura will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro, Kevin Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
