Lane was a 1968 graduate of Lufkin High School and was a retired journeyman electrician for IBEW L.U. 479 in Beaumont. He was a Master Mason with Nederland Lodge #1368, A.F. & A.M. and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite with the Valley of Galveston.
He is survived by his son, Michael Lane Batson of Huntington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lane’s memory may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
Cremation services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
