Services for Kyle Dillard, 82, of Lufkin, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Charles Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Townsend Cemetery in Broaddus.
Mr. Dillard was born April 22, 1942 in Hardin County, Texas, the son of the late Bennie (Cox) and Hubert Dillard. He passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Dillard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired from the U. S. Forest Service in the engineering department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports, especially watching his sons and grandchildren play sports. He served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shelby Dillard of Lufkin; sons, Steve Dillard and Brent Dillard and wife Tracy, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Michael Dillard and wife Ashton, Kaegan Dillard and wife Deanna, Briana Dillard and Jake Scott, Raelin Moore and husband Ben; great-grandchildren, Shane Dillard, Caroline Moore, Connor Moore and Haidyn Scott; and numerous other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dillard was preceded in death by his stepfather, Al Chambliss.
Pallbearers will be Michael Dillard, Kaegan Dillard, Ben Moore, Jay Bennett, Jake Scott and Shawn Young.
The family will receive friends from noon to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
