Services for Joyce Ruth Glover Ray, 75, of Boaz, Alabama, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jason Bynum officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.
Joyce was born on July 19, 1937 in Wells, Texas, the daughter of the late Karen (Calhoun) and Robert Cornelius Glover. She passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at her home in Boaz, Alabama.
She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for everyone. She worked in management in poultry processing for 40 years and traveled around the country, including Honduras and the Bahamas, for her job.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Don Ray; son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Kathy Harrison; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Mike Talton; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Steve Mosley and Diana and George Moore; grandchildren, Marie Bynum, Dedra Puckett, Jonathan Harrison, Jessica Harrison, Stephanie Smith and Martha Hartranft; siblings, Karen Wilmont, Marie Lindley, Billy Glover, Linda Cothran, and Mac Glover; 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other family members, and her beloved Poodle Hope.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Ray Harrison; brothers, Marshall Glover, R A Glover and Rayford Earl Glover; sisters, Hazel Davison-Moore and Bonnie Taliferro; and great-granddaughter, Kloi Harrison.
