Memorial services for Jonathan C. Capps, 27, of Pollok, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 at Heritage Baptist Church, with Pastor Jim Housley officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Jonathan was born November 30, 1992 in Baytown, Texas. He passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 in a local hospital.
Jonathan was adopted into the Capps family as an infant, and was a beloved brother and son. His diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis never slowed him down from enjoying the hobbies he loved, such as hunting, fishing, and exploring in the National Forests. After graduating from high school, he was employed by Lockheed Martin and became a Quality Assurance Inspector.
Jonathan had a laugh that was contagious, a generous heart, and a brilliant mind. He loved spending time with his eleven nieces and nephews and delighted in big family gatherings. His familiarity with hospital stays made him a compassionate visitor to friends and family who also found themselves in that situation.
He is survived in death by his parents, Coy and Joyce Capps, of Lufkin, Texas; sisters, Theresa Guy and husband David of Lufkin, Amy Nystrom and husband Peter of Houston, and Holly Swank and husband Jarret of Goodrich, Michigan; and eleven nieces and nephews.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
