Services for Mr. J Lynn Collins of Huntington and Houston Tx, will be Saturday, November 23,2024 at Gipson Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. J Lynn will be laid to rest in the Treadwell Cemetery in Huntington beside his loving wife of 58 years.
J Lynn Collins, passed from this life to his new life, November 9, 2024 in Houston, Tx. He was 88 years of age.
JL was born in Crockett Texas, to the late Sylvester and Eva Dell Collins and Carl Arnold whom his mother later married after his father died, Carl Arnold raised him until he passed in 1982. JL went on to live a joyful life here in East Texas.
He never met a stranger during his life and loved to tell jokes. He had a very humorous attitude that rubbed off on the ones around him. He enjoyed being out side and doing yardwork. He loved to mow his yard and have a garden every year and doing other things around the house.
He accepted a job with Southwest Color and retired after 38 years. Working his way from the ground up. He retired in charge of Flexo Graphic Printing in Texas, Alabama, Maryland, and Canada plants.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories; Daughters; Sue Benson and Donna Hickson and her husband Greg. His grandchildren; Gregory Hickson, Tiffiany Stanley, Chris Stanbery, Kimberly Benson, LeaAnne Chadwick, Jake Stanbery, Melissa Thomas and Jennifer Hickson. His great-grandchildren; Hunter, Gavin, Dalton, Colton, Emily Marie, Jed, Levi, Audrey, Cailyn, Mia and Cameron. Also, brother in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and other family members.
Preceded in death, father Sylvester Collins, and Carl Arnold and Eva Dell Arnold, his wife Joyce Marie (Roberts) Collins and a daughter Tina Collins Stanbery.
The pallbearers that will carry him to his final resting place will be; Greg Hickson, Gregory Hickson, Luther Rains, Chris Stanbery, Kenny Chadwick, and Hunter Chadwick.
Honorary pallbearers are; Travis Ainsworth and John Terrano.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 22,2024 from 5:00-7:00P.M.
