Jerrie Kay (Tomez) Aguilar was born on July 26, 1958, in Lufkin, TX, to Raymond Tomez, Sr. and Frances Luna. She passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 66 at her sister's home in Huntington, TX.
Jerrie was a nurse for over 26 years. Before becoming a nurse, she was a phlebotomist, CNA, and med aid. She loved helping others, especially the elderly.
Jerrie loved shopping, cooking, word searches, and spending time with her little best friends, Katie, Natalie, Josie, and Luke. Her favorite thing was spending time with her sisters.
Jerrie is survived by her stepdad, Ralph Luna of Huntington, TX; her dad, Raymond Tomez, Sr. of Huntington, TX; sisters Melva Jones and her husband, Burl, of Huntington, TX, and Traci McClure of Lufkin, TX; brothers Matt Hill and his wife, Janna, of Ratcliff, TX, and Danny Hill and his wife, Robin, of Kenard, TX; and son Jody Herrington and his wife, Michelle, of Huntington, TX. She will also be lovingly remembered by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of many others.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Katrina Lindsey and Terrie Snead; brothers Beau Hill and Ray Tomez, Jr.; stepmom Margie Tomez; her grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and her fur baby, Jazz.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Gipson Funeral Home, 1515 S Chestnut St, Lufkin, Texas 75901, followed by a funeral service officiated by Karen Erby at 1:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers are John Williams, Jason Larman, Erik Ramirez, Denver Kienitz, Brittany Ramirez, Ray Jones, Danny Jones, Steven Jones, and Blaze Jones.
Jerrie will be laid to rest in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
