James Terrell Kesinger was born January 10, 1935 in Alto, Texas to Dottie (Pyle) and James Arthur Kesinger; the house he was born still stands. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 28, 2023 in Lufkin, Texas.
James had a great sense of humor and told great stories about his life experiences. He worked at Texas Foundry, running the pattern shop for 48 years. He was married to Mary Huff Kesinger, the love of his life for 36 years. James loved God with all his heart. He adored his family and cherished time with his children and grandchildren. He was very active in his church, proudly providing “secret security” during services. He loved hunting, riding motorcycles, fishing; he was also a Ham radio operator.
Survivors include his sons, Clay and his wife, Rogena Kesinger of Mineola, Texas, and James Kesinger Jr. of Lufkin, Texas; grandchildren, Skyler, Jacob, Amanda, Kyla, Kerris, Will, Jennifer, Becky and Charles; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Mann of Plano, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; daughters, Dottie and Melisa and granddaughter, Heather Kesinger.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
