Services for James Ralph Glass, 83, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Rikard A. Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Glass was born on March 12, 1930 in Herrin, Illinois, the son of the late Agnes (Thompson) and James Garnett Glass. He passed away on March 31, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Glass was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a song leader and loved good music and singing. He enjoyed tinkering with his own inventions. Mr. Glass served his country in the United States Army for two years in the Korean War. He was retired from Lufkin Industries.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Paula Glass; daughter, Brenda Lerma; grandsons, Patrick Lerma, Daniel R. Lerma and Bryan A. Lerma; sister, Helen Baker; and his pet Shih Tzu, Pinguo.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Glass was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tom Baker.
The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
