Hubert Lankford Jr.

Services for Hubert Lankford, Jr., 87, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Vaughn and Bro. Greg King officiating. Interment will follow in the Trevat Cemetery in Trinity County.

Mr. Lankford was born December 19, 1925 in Trevat, Texas, the son of the late Bessie (Hollis) and Hubert Lankford. He passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 in a local nursing facility.

He was a member of Fourth & Groesbeck Church of Christ. Mr. Lankford served his country in the United States Navy. He was a retired machine shop foreman.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lankford; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and James King; grandchildren, Greg and Stacy King, Robyn Martinez, Wes and Tiffany King, Leslie and Tony Walker, Lauren Wade; great-grandchildren, Anthony Walker, Blake Wade, Kristen Rowin and husband, David, Tyson Alamo, Tyler Alamo, Shelby King, Mitchell King, Cassity King, Kayla King, Kyle King; great-great-grandson, Daniel Rowin; brothers, Roy Lankford and Hilton Lankford; sisters, Annette Sowell and Fannie Perry.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lankford was preceded in death by his son, Staff Sgt. Robert Mitchell; brother, Wallace Lankford; sister, Margie Westmoreland; and brother, LP Lankford.

Pallbearers will be Ted Lankford, Tyson Alamo, Roy Truss, Wes King, Johnathan Glaesemann, Blake Wade, and Anthony Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Fourth & Groesbeck Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
