Ella Louise Rogers

Funeral service for Ella Louise Rogers, 91, of Diboll, Texas, will be held at 3PM Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home with Pastor Rosemary Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Ryan’s Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Rogers was born January 26, 1933 in Dodge, Texas, daughter of the late Mary (Thigpen) and Roy Redd. She passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2024 at the Woodland Heights Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.

Louise loved her family very much. She was an outgoing person and never met a stranger. Louise enjoyed being outdoors and was a member of Loose Thread, ministry of HUMC. She worked at White’s Warehouse and retired from Bove Sewing Center.

Survivors included are daughter, Teresa and Donald “Skeeter” Smith of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tisha and Clint Powers of Lufkin, Lynsie and Ross Skinner of Pollok; great-grandchildren, Rance Powers, Cayne Powers, Kade Skinner; sister, Mary Lois Matthews of Diboll; and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, E.C. Rogers; brothers, Thomas Redd and W.H. Redd.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Burke Community Church, 124 Blue Jay St., Burke, TX 75941.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
