David Wayne Goins

He was a retired firefighter with Lufkin Fire Department, where he worked for over ten years. He was also a volunteer firefighter for thirty years. He was a loving son, father and brother. He enjoyed rebuilding cars and vacationing with family and friends. He attended Cross Timbers Cowboy Church.

Survivors include mother, Wanda Louise Goins; sisters, Teresa Westmoreland and Darlene Goins; sons, Marcus Morgan, Joshua Goins, Travis Goins and Logan Smith; niece, Kirstie Goins; nephew, Nicholas Westmoreland; and numerous loved ones and friends.

Mr. Goins is preceded in death by his father, Peter Joshua Goins; all his grandparents; paternal aunts and uncle; and maternal uncles.

Serving as pallbearers are Jerry LaSalle, Sammy Braden, Bobby Dean Cranford, Gary Williams, Perry Williams, Roland Brent, Kenneth Ryan, Bobby Ryan and Ray Ryan.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Angelina County FireFighters Association, Kent Henson and James Leftwich.

Services for Mr. Goins will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church in Lufkin with Bro. Ford Adkins and Bro. Keith Burnett officiating. Interment will follow in Ryan Chapel Cemetery in Diboll.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
