Mr. Conner attended school in Huntington. He married Nina Bass and was married for 64 years before her passing in 2008. He was a machinist for over 50 years with Angelina Hardwood Sales. He retired at the age of 80 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending to his cows. Mr. Conner was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James K. and Helen Conner of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Ann and Burl Wood of Celina, TX; five grandchildren, Renae Hendricks, Clint Conner, Brad Wood, Justin Wood and Tracey Lynn Portz; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Lesie Davis of Keltys, TX, Lita Hazel Vaughn of Paris, TX and Merlene Alexander of Grand Prairie, TX.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr Conner is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services for Mr. Conner will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2010 in Fielders Cemetery.
