Bobby Ray Fitts

Services for Bobby Ray Fitts, 75, of Pollok, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Blackie Cranford officiating, and Masonic rites under the auspices of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M. Eulogy will be offered by Michael Brittian. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Bobby was born February 15, 1948 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Bessie Edith (Parker) and Clarence Lester Fitts. He passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in a Houston hospital.

Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and loved his family dearly. He loved to work; he and his son were a working team. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and making sausages. He was known as the “Sausage Man”. He was a member of the Wells Masonic Lodge, as a Master Mason. He was Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Burke Lodge for two consecutive years.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Fitts of Central; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Lynda Fitts of Central; daughter and son-in-law, Joanie Fitts and Kenny Modisette of Central; stepdaughters, Tami Harvey and husband Craig of Lakeland, Florida and Andrea White and husband Stephen of Diboll; grandchildren, Brandie Fitts, Chelsey Weaver, Kippie Morgan, Bradley McMullen, Lana McMullen, Sterling Harvey, Hunter Harvey, Hilary Grimes and Kolby White; great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Karson, Kase, Bryson, Daniel, Beau, Levi, Creed and Landyn; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Rose Sharon “Bit” Fitts.

Pallbearers will be Stephen White, Kolby White, Craig Harvey, Jeff Smith, Bill Conner, and Stacy Vann.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Wells, Bernie Gripp, Sterling Harvey, Hunter Harvey, Zach Morgan and Mack Weaver.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
