Funeral service for Betty Russell, 87, of Diboll will be held at 2PM on Friday, February 9, 2024 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Chapel at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Russell was born January 20, 1937 in Jacksonville, Texas, daughter to the late Edna Grace Aston and Troy L. Dixon. She passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Corrigan Nursing Home.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved crocheting, crossword puzzles, and reading. She was a teacher’s aide and loved the children. She was a longtime member of the Diboll Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Vickie Russell of Diboll, Sally Russell of Diboll, and Troi Russell of Diboll; son, Timothy Russell (Samantha) of Apple Springs; sister, Edna Ruth Anderson; grandchildren, Elizabeth Russell of Apple Springs and Isabella Russell of Apple Springs; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Max.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren W. Russell; brother, Robert Dixon; sister, Arlene

Greer; and mother-in-law, Velma Hogue.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park chapel.
