Bebe Ruth Davis, 86, of Lufkin, was born June 22, 1925 in Shreveport, Louisiana. While she was in the care of Hospice in the Pines in Lufkin, Texas, she went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
During her younger years, Mrs. Davis worked her way up through Hughes Tools Company to become the executive secretary. She then met the love of her life, Jack Davis, and they enjoyed 50 years together. Ruth's greatest love was her family and her Lord. She was talented and creative in her arts, crafts, and quilting, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Her faith in Jesus Christ was strong and enduring. She once was in charge of the Children's Ministry at First Congregational Methodist Church in Lufkin. Serving her Lord was her deepest passion.
Ruth is survived by her husband, F. L. "Jack" Davis, Jr. of Lufkin; daughter, Cathy Davis of The Woodlands; stepson and daughter-in-law, Rick and Sharon Davis of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Jordan Stoddard and wife Samantha of Westminster, Colorado and Whitney Stoddard of Ft. Collins, Colorado; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Verna Mott of Lufkin; sister, Judy Black of Hudson; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay Yount and Fairy and Lester Mott; son, Steven Ray Davis; stepson, Jack Odell Davis; grandson, Ryan Christopher Stoddard; granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Davis; brother, Lesley Clay Yount; and brother-in-law, Roger Black.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Stoddard, Sean Black, David Mott, Michael Anderson, Darren Holub, and John Ross Elder.
Ruth's family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Carlton Lewis, Dr. Cynthia Ayala and Frank, Sherryl, Martha, Teressa, Thaffy, Kathy, Chris, Peggy, Debbie and Cornetha from Hospice in the Pines for their loving and caring attention.
