William "Fred" Bennett Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 4PM at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Fred was a graduate of Lubbock’s Monterey High School in 1971. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1977 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Fred worked as an independent appraiser and as a Land Appraiser with the State Texas’ Land Office.

He is survived by his three children including daughters; Lyndee Bennett and Haley Bennett of Austin; and a son, Ryan Bennett a US Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan, with his wife, Ayaka and children, Luka and Roy. Other survivors include his sister, Jackie Webb of Smithsburg, MD and his father, William F. Bennett, of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his mother, Millicent and his sister, Linda.

The family suggests that memorials, in lieu of flowers, be sent to Texas Tech University. P.O. Box 42321, Lubbock, Texas 79409-2321 for scholarships for majors in agriculture or the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.
