William "Bill" Utley

William “Bill” Utley, 66, of Lubbock passed away September 2, 2013 surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held on Thursday September 05, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be Friday September 06, 2013 at 10:00 am in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.

William was born on February 04, 1947 in Jasper, Alabama to the late William Luther and Corina ( Jones) Utley. He served in both the Army and Marines. Bill was a strong, determined, and spiritual man. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 27 years. Bill loved to work with his hands and keep busy with projects.

Bill was also preceded in death by his sister Burline and brother in law Edward Bowman.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife Patsy; one daughter Sherrie(Kip) Tanner; grandchildren Brittany Fleming, Ryan Tanner, and Kole Tanner of Georgia; one step son Lyndal Lowrance of the home and his daughter Cherise Lowrence of Kermit; siblings, Dorothy Elder, Bobbie Butler, Louis Hyde, Billie Hyde, Sue Gann of Alabama and Maryetta Rutledge of Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
