Willard “Papa” Justice, Jr. was born on May 31, 1951 to parents Willard, Sr. and Shirley Maxine in Waynesville, North Carolina, and taken from his family and friends due to a unforseeable tragic accident on May 10, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 69.
He was a kind-hearted and sweet man who loved helping others when he could. He was raising his granddaughters, Alicia Chavez and Mya Smith, when his wife, Floydie May Smith entered into eternal life on May 28, 2010. He was very much like his dad telling jokes, and was never afraid to hold back when asked for advice or just giving his opinion.
He enjoyed fishing in his younger years, and loved to watch golf and old western movies like the Rifle Man. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War for 3 years before discharge. For years he was a Taxi Driver for Yellow Cab and then found his passion as a Truck Driver with many different companies some known as PTL (Paschall Truck Lines, Inc.) and Robert Heath Trucking Company.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, May.
He is survived by his only son, Keith Justice of Gastonia, NC; his only daughter, Amy Justice of Gastonia, NC; siblings: Frank Justice of Gastonia, NC, Gregory Justice of Kings Mountain, NC, Charles Justice of Crosbyton, TX, Shirley Price of Milledgeville, GA, Katherine Jones of Kings Mountain, NC, Sally Mendoza of Richland Hills, TX, and Chrisandra Torres of Lubbock, TX; granddaughters, Hope, Faith, Alicia and Mya; grandson, Cameron "Bubba"; and children he raised, Christina, Serena and Anthony.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2020 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Livestream will be available on Resthaven's Facebook. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
