Virginia Louise Young, 79, of Lubbock, TX, passed away on July 3, 2023. She was born to Ruby and Minnie Lawson in Lubbock on October 23, 1943. Virginia graduated from Monterey High School and, on March 7, 1961, married the love of her life, Eddie Don Young. She worked as an office manager for Answering Lubbock and was an active member of Trinity Church. She had a love of reading, sewing, and crossword puzzles. For Virginia, spending time with her beloved family was her passion.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Eddie Don Young, and children Cynthia Renee Young, Kimberly Diana Long (William Long) and Mitchel Don Young (Margo Young). Her grandchildren: Jenny Bruno (Matthew Burno), Jaylie Burno, Zane Young, Ethan Young, Tanner Webb, and Ryker Hodges.
She is preceded in death by Parents, Ruby and Minnie Lawson; brothers: Harold Lawson, Julian Lawson, Ruby Jr. Lawson, and David Lawson; and sister Nancy Hagler.
The family invites you to a visitation on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 6-8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10 am at Resthaven Funeral Home in the Abbey Chapel, with graveside to follow.
