Veronyka "VI" Vance

"Vi' or "Ronnie" as friends & family called her, is preceded in passing by her beloved mother Nellie Leah Shook, father Frankie Lee Tremer, sister Catherine Elizibeth Pace, sister-in-law Polly Taylor, and the absolute love her life, husband George Paul Vance.

Vi lived her whole life as a true servant of God and the best mother a child could ask for. Her love and dedication to the ministries of Oakwood Wesleyan Fellowship and volunteering were life passions for her. Her love and care for her brothers, mother, husband, and all her children and family exemplified her true servant's heart.

Vi is survived by her sons Mike Iden of Lubbock, Scott & Julia Iden of Raleigh, NC, Russ & Mia Iden of Bixby, OK, Jerry & Dawn Vance of Lubbock, Debbie Stout of Lubbock, Karen & Larry Mathis of Lubbock, and Connie England of Lubbock, brother Ralph Taylor of Waxahachie and Doug Taylor of Lubbock. Vi was also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, numerous cousins.., all of which she loved passionately and doted over at every opportunity.

Vi made a lasting impression on anyone she met and especially those she engaged with for volunteering, ministry work, and always being there for her beloved church family. Never one to say no, she would do anything anyone needed, even as she moved into the autumn of her life. She was a well-grounded West Texas gal with a simple approach to life with an incredible work ethic. Vi worked with both NCR and Texas Tech with a career spanning over half a century, positively impacting everyone with whomever she crossed paths. Veronyka enjoyed various hobbies such as sewing, photos and scrapbooking and decades of memories at the family cabin at Lake Kemp, holiday parties, family events, birthdays, and church social event.

Vi was always a giver and never a taker and with that the family is requesting donations to Oakwood Wesleyan Fellowship Church in lieu of flowers.

A visitation for Vi will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas. A celebration of life service funeral service will occur Friday, October 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM. A graveside committal service will occur Friday, October 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas.
