Vera Alameda Fair, 86, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on 07-31-2019. Vera was born to parents John William Haddock and Lou Tee Francis Haddock, on 11-26-1932 in Lubbock, Texas. Vera graduated from Lubbock High School in 1950. Vera worked as a Nurse’s Aide for 25 years. After 25 years of service, Vera went on to work for Lubbock Auction. Ever sense she was able to hold a wrench she worked in her father’s auto shop, she acquired a keen ear of knowing what was wrong with the engine, creating things like jewelry, clothes, quilts, blankets and crochet, etc. She had a good sense of style when she made her and her family's clothes. In 1942 thru 2019, Vera was honored with an AWE for appreciation for being their friends and family for the gifts she gave them.
Vera met Christopher Wade Fair in 1950. They were married on 12-13-1950 in Hot Springs, New Mexico. Together they raised 4 biological children and 1 Adopted child; Belinda Gail Saul, James David Fair, Glenna Ruth Fair, Vivian Alan Fair, and Anthony Alan Fair.
Vera is survived by Rita Hill, Sister, Belinda Saul, Daughter, James David Fair, Son, Glenna Ruth Fair, Daughter, Anthony Fair, Son, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by John Haddock, Father, Lou Haddock, Mother, Ruth Thompson, Sister, Jerry (Pete) Haddock, Brother, Glynnn Haddock, Brother, Christopher Wade Fair, Husband, Vivian Alan Fair, Son, Tunky Jason Stevens, Grandson.
A Visitation, is scheduled for Visitation Sunday Aug. 4, 2019 2pm to 4pm, Funeral Service, Monday Aug. 5, 2019 at 10am, followed by burial at City of Lubbock Cemetery. Jerry Hatfield, UMC Chaplin will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed The Children.
