Simon Spencer (Butch) Stubbs, age 75, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 19th. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents Fannie Ruth Bomar and Salmon Spencer Stubbs. Spencer was the grandson of Lou H. Stubbs and great grandson of the pioneer Caraway family whose ranching headquarters became a Lubbock landmark, because of the Mulberry tree and windmill located at 50th and Indiana.
He was a trucker. He attended Bean Elementary, Hutchinson Middle School, and Montery the first year it opened. He married Mary Lou Battey July 3, 1960. They were blessed with three children. Debbie Brenner (Chase) of Pelahatehie, Mississippi; Ricky Stubbs (Denise) Okolona, Arkansas, and Harold Stubbs (Dena) of Brandon, Mississippi. He was the proud grandfather (Papaw) of ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Spencer is also survived by his brother Paul Richard Frost of California and sister Sandra Lou Stubbs Benson (Dean) of Lubbock.
